Monstrology - En, Middle Brain Games. EAN : K.A Monstrology is a fully cooperative game of strange, alluring, yet somehow familiar imaginary monsters...and you, their humans. It's a much more surreal, imaginative reinterpretation of the childhood classic "Guess Who" - featuring monsters that are a mix of Dr. Seuss and H.P. Lovecraft. Players take on the role of budding Monstrologists in a collegiate level course on the subject, trying to identify these delightful, unsettling creatures. It's easy to learn after playing just one or two rounds, which take about 5-10 minutes each.
Each turn, one player is the 'subject' of a monstrological investigation. That player secretly draws a monster card from a deck of 84 beautifully illustrated characters; he or she then fills out a "taxonomy rubric" to help the other players pick the monster in question out of a lineup. The trick is, each rubric only allows the subject to share information relevant to a particular feature of the monster - for example, its skills, habitats, magical powers, or vulnerabilities. (There are 22 taxonomy rubrics to choose from.) Great debates, thoughtful conversation, and often hilarity ensues as the other players attempt to select the right monster.
