Eren is a little boy who dreams of traveling to the outside world. But this is impossible because he lives in a fortified city with walls exceeding fifty meters high. These ramparts are necessary for the safety of the inhabitants because they are the last representatives of humanity, forced to hide to escape the titans who massacred most of the human race a century earlier. Eren is stubborn: he doesn't suspect the violence of the battles that pitted men against titans. He decides to post his application to become a scout, since they are the only soldiers authorized to leave the city to learn more about the titans. But one fine day, a giant manages to destroy the wall that protected the city and opens the way to several dozen of his fellow creatures! Eren watches helplessly as his mother dies horribly and ends up devoured. As he flees with other survivors, he swears revenge and destroy the titan race until there is not one left!!
Over a century ago, mankind was devoured by giant beings of unknown intelligence and origin known as Titans – creatures that eat humans alive indiscriminately and for no apparent reason. The remaining population has managed to survive the last hundred years only by building a multi-walled city capable of keeping the Titans at bay, training military recruits to patrol the perimeter and gather intelligence about their mysterious foe. Eren and Mikasa have lived a relatively peaceful life behind the city's walls, but when a massive Titan appears, smashing the outer barrier and unleashing a wave of terror, their lives are brutally changed forever...
